Job description

Location: Boon Lay, Singapore (On-site)

Job Type: Full-Time Internship

Duration: 6 Months

Start Date: Anytime from August 2026 onwards

Compensation: SGD 1,000 per month

Company Overview

Shipping World Logistics Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based logistics company providing freight forwarding, transportation, warehousing, and supply chain solutions across the region.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Digital Transformation Intern to support our ongoing technology transformation. This is a hands-on role with real ownership, not a shadowing internship — you will work directly on integrations, dashboards, system migration, and automation that the operations team relies on. The internship is structured in two phases: the first builds your understanding of how the business runs, the second is where you apply that to build tools people actually use. A full-time conversion is possible at the end, if it works for both parties.

Key Responsibilities

Phase 1 (From Q3 2026): Integrations and Visibility

  • Integrate our Freight Management System (Fr8Labs) with TradeWeb to push shipment data directly into permit declaration systems

  • Scope EDI integration with our overseas agent network

  • Build KPI dashboards for the shipping departments

Phase 2 (From Q4 2026): WMS Migration and Automation

  • Support change management for our Warehouse Management System migration — from discovery through cutover and training

    • Drive adoption of task and milestone tracking within the FMS

  • Build agentic workflows on the FMS for the freight departments

  • Develop automation using Zapier/n8n, AWS Lambda, and Google Apps Script

What You Will Gain

  • Direct ownership of integration, automation, and change management projects — not shadowing

  • Exposure to a live WMS migration from discovery through cutover

  • Practical experience with FMS platforms, EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), and no-code/low-code automation tools

  • Insight into how a freight forwarder operates, before being asked to automate it

  • Possibility of full-time conversion at the end of the internship

Job requirements

Job Requirements

  • Polytechnic or University student pursuing Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field

  • Comfortable working with APIs, integrations, or automation tools (Zapier, n8n, or similar); prior exposure to AWS Lambda or Google Apps Script a plus

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Willingness to spend time understanding operations before building solutions

  • Able to commit to a full-time, 6-month internship

  • Eligible to work in Singapore
